Ideas4Share has been around for 5 years now. From the 1st of February 2015 until today, Ideas4Share has achieved a lot. Here is our latest achievement:
And that’s ONLY the beginning!
While this is my first book, I’m extremely happy and proud not for writing the book but for finding 8 other people who put their names next to mine. In my opinion, that was the real achievement. It might be easy to write a book all by yourself but it is definitely NOT easy to do so with 8 other people.
I must however admit, it was one of the best experience in my entire life.
When I first held the book, I said to myself: “When shall I hold the second one?” and, for you to know, I have started the next projects already, yet another (2) books, one in Arabic and the other in English.
If you are interested to read the book, please contact Free Ideas Project on Twitter or Sarah Publisher on Twitter. You may also want to do that on Facebook.
For those who have actually heard of Linux, Virtualization and have some basic knowledge, read on.
As a GNU/Linux user since 2010, I’ve tried so many distributions and among those, I’ve always liked: SliTaz.
Here is why:
If you have previous experience with GNU/Linux, you can simple go to:
Download SliTaz (the latest version) and install it to your machine.
If you are still new or have basic knowledge, I would highly recommend to use Oracle VirtualBox. Download the latest version:
VirtualBox5.2.12platformpackages
Do not forget to download and install:
VirtualBox 5.2.12 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack
Which can be found on the “Download” page.
It does not matter what Operating System you are using. Oracle VirtualBox can be installed on Microsoft Windows, OS X and GNU/Linux.
I have done a quick google search and I found this article. It might be a good idea to have a look.
Installing SliTaz should be very easy. You can always refer to the documentation or just do a google search. You will find so many guides, howtos and articles. Do not be lazy! remember, learning is fun and if I show you each and every step, it will never ever be fun anymore. Just do your research and if you need any help, you can always ask me!
Below is a screenshot from an idle SliTaz Desktop installed on Oracle VirtualBox running on Ubuntu 16.04.4!
Beautiful and really small, isn’t it?
I wrote this article for fun. You should do the same. I mean, learn more about GNU/Linux in general and SliTaz in particular. You will love it. I do and I thought to share that with you!
Enjoy, have fun and keep learning, as this is the best thing in the whole world!
6 days ago, I have published on my LinkedIn profile about my newest initiative which I called Mentor101.
There are 5 different stages.
The registration form for stage [1/5] is ready – please click here.
More information about Mentor101 can be found here:
Thank you so much and good luck to everyone!
Be honest and answer this question:
How many times did you repeat that sentence today – “I don’t have time”?!
Then again, be honest (at least with yourself) and answer the next question:
Do you truly believe that you don’t have time?
If YES then what exactly do you have?!
Most if not ALL of us have said and repeated the above myth for years, over and over again, every single day and we still do.
There is NO scientific fact whatsoever that could prove the above statement is correct. Actually, it’s VERY wrong.
If I have to sum up the entire human history from the creation of Adam until this very moment, I can’t find better than: life goes on. Which means whether we live or die, life will go on and on until God will say otherwise.
Do you still think you don’t have time? If YES, read on.
End of story. I don’t really have to keep writing or trying to prove that simple solid obvious fact. However, I think I need to keep writing to share with you how to defeat that myth and pass on this knowledge and/or experience to everyone else but first and for most, you must learn how to change your own thoughts before pass it on. Be the change you wish to see around.
Time, whether you like it or not, is there and goes on.
The main problem is not with time, it’s how we deal with time. How we manage time. How to invest and make the best of each and every second in our short life.
I will give you one simple example and will leave the rest to your imagination.
I’m a mentor for group of people. I train them online. For 3 years now, I keep hearing or reading the very same sentence, over and over again:
“Sorry Ali, I don’t have time!”
If X or Y said or wrote that only once, I would never ever think to write this article. Actually, I’d never think about Time Management. Thanks to all those who said or wrote that to me, it’s because of them I’m writing this and sharing my ideas and experience in this regard. In fact, I learned how to make the best of my time. I’m forever thankful, really.
Back to my first question: how many times did you say that to yourself and/or others?
Allow me to rephrase the question:
For how long have you been trying to convince yourself that you don’t have time?
Scientifically, theoretically, technically and practically, you have spent a certain number of seconds, minutes, maybe hours or even days trying over and over again to convince yourself and perhaps everyone else around you that you don’t have time.
Let’s say, you have spent 60 minutes (1 hour) per week saying and writing “I don’t have time” and 180 minutes (3 hours) per week thinking about that.
Guess what?
You have WASTED 60 minutes + 180 minutes = 240 minutes from your life for absolutely NOTHING.
Guess what again?
You can NOT bring that wasted time back, it’s GONE! bye bye.
Now, follow this simple step and you’ll be the best Time Manager on earth:
Will give you another example:
I don’t have time to read your article.
vs
I will invest 5 minutes from my time to read your article.
The first sentence will make you a complete loser. While the second sentence will make you the best winner and time manager.
Keep repeating the swap technique over and over again until you master it.
Life/Time goes on. You can NOT do anything about that. You can’t stop time nor life. You might be able to end your own life but you can’t end the life of 7.5 billions human on earth. Logic says:
As long as time goes on, let’s invest that time on something useful/positive better than wasting it for nothing.
The real damage is not only wasted life or time but a massive negative energy to yourself and everyone around you + a wrong programming to your brain.
What a catastrophe! What a huge loss!
Who would want all that? seriously who?
Hello? do you still believe you don’t have time? if YES, please re-read the above and if you have any question, just ask.
Thanks for reading and hope that helps!
It’s a mentorship initiative for 101 days offered to 9 people only.
We’re in 2017 so location is no longer a problem nor a challenge. Thanks to the Internet, we can meet online. You don’t have to move a muscle. Mentor101 will come to you, you go nowhere (physical location). In short, we meet online, period.
Anyone and everyone. Regardless where are you from, YOU can apply. However, for you to be selected, there are some tests and steps you need to pass and do. Also, there are some requirements you need to meet. Details will be published and explained hopefully soon so please be patient.
If you wish to change the world, you need to be that change. You need to change yourself first. Mentor101 focuses on the foundation of any community, that’s the individual him/her self. I managed to change myself. It’s time now to pass the experience and knowledge to 9 people. Once those 9 people will successfully pass the mentorship program, they will be ready to pass on the message to others. That’s in my opinion the only way to change the world as we know it.
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” – R. Buckminster Fuller
I shall select only 9 people to mentor them for 101 days. As for how the mentorship program will work and what will happen during that? this is the wrong question at this stage. Rome wasn’t built overnight. Let’s learn to walk first and then run. As for how I shall select those 9 among maybe 900? there are basic requirements:
If the above basic requirements are achievable, we move on to the next step:
Candidates MUST read about the 80/20 principle and if possible find the 80/20 manager book then read it or follow the author Richard Koch on Twitter.
The third step is: record (1 minute) video and send it to me by email. In this video, candidates are required to convince me why should I select them?
There will be a written test or exam. Passing with a high mark means the candidate is qualified to the last step.
If the candidate managed to pass all the previous 4 steps, the final step will be a 1-2-1 interview with me for 5-10 minutes only. Needless to say, this interview is online (Google Hangout).
After all that, I shall select the top 9 whom I shall mentor.
Most likely, 22nd of August, 2017.
Please note: I shall confirm the exact starting date sometime later. More details will be published hopefully soon!
I’ll do my best to answer ALL your questions very soon. However, please be advised that I’ve not yet finished. More details will be published hopefully soon. Please understand I’m doing all this by myself and I’ve a day job and another project to manage, not to mention an ongoing training to nearly 70 people. Oh, and several other daily tasks as well.
Thank you!
Back in 2016, I have published my first post about FOL. It took me 10 months to come back and write more about this project. Reason for such gap is because I’ve been beyond imagination busy doing tons of other things. Luckily, after finding a true masterpiece (a book) called The 80/20 Manager by Richard Koch, I managed to change couple of major things in my daily life. It means more time and energy to work on projects I love and interested in. That said, it’s time for FOL 0.2 and beyond.
F for Freedom of Choice. Free Will.
O for Openness.
L for Learning. Focusing on E-Learning though.
FOL is the future, period.
Who are you to know that?! you may ask.
Well, look around you and start to analyse, observe and think. Where the entire world is heading? IoT? Searching for life on other planets? way beyond that? the rapid growth and super fast progress in almost everything in the world is leading to one and simple fact that is we as humans can’t remain silent nor stand still. We must keep moving to cope up with what is already happening around us.
For me, one of the most and highly important topics is Education. For so many years, I’ve been thinking and doing lots of activities in this regard. Not to mention projects as well. FOL is my ultimate vision in this regard.
Why FOL is so important? or why should you care about it?
FOL is not just a project, it’s a philosophy of life. It’s a daily activity. No human can live or survive without FOL. Don’t get the wrong idea here. The core of FOL is education and learning. The process of learning is one of the oldest processes humans had and still do. Can you live without learning new things? I dare you! NO ONE can live without learning. The second main difference between what humans have been doing for centuries and FOL is the platform or the way of learning. FOL aims to utilize the use of Technology, the Internet specifically. The very third main difference is the sharing part. With FOL, you can’t keep the information for yourself. You MUST pass the information to others. The ultimate goal is each human can be a mentor and a student at the very same time.
Wait, what is the first main difference between what humans have been doing and still doing obviously and FOL?
The major difference is: FOL will teach you something no school nor university in the entire world will ever teach you what FOL will do.
How?
FOL is about learning real-life experience with others. Above all, YOU can actually choose what to learn. No one can force you to learn what you don’t need in your life.
When you pass your failures before you successes to others, you are simply saving their time and energy.
What is the most brutal enemy to humans? unquestionably, it is time.
Now, imagine what could happen if we manage to start working on FOL and sharing our lessons with others? how much time we could save? how much efforts we could spare? how much progress we could make? it’s beyond your imagination.
I have so much ideas for FOL. Most likely, I will start with one or two very soon hopefully.
Thank you for reading and as always, if you have any question please just ask!
Hi everyone,
After nearly 6 months, I’m back to my website. I’ve been working on updating it for many hours now. Everything should be updated and good to go.
No promises but will do my best to write more often here.
Have a wonderful times!
